Students in the art room are learning about the element of art color and focusing on value. This week fourth graders have been creating tints of a color. We can’t wait to see the finished artwork!
Child Safety Matters: Students at BCES will have the opportunity to receive Child Safety Matters training at school in the upcoming weeks. Attached is a list of topics that will be discussed with your child. A letter and opt-out form will be sent home with your child on October 7, 2019. Art Room Update: Fifth grade students completed their torn paper portraits.
Students are studying the element of art color in the art room. They have been practicing mixing primary colors to make secondary colors.
Chocolate sales have been extended to Sept. 20 due to hurricane Dorian. All money is due Sept. 27. We are half way to our goal.

Due to Hurricane Dorian, the deadline to turn in school flu consent forms has been extended to the end of the school day on 9/16/19.
The Bryan County Board of Education held a called work session on Saturday, September 7, 2019, where we discussed Hurricane Dorian and the impact it had on students and staff. As a result of our discussion, the students and staff will not be required to make up missed days caused by the mandatory evacuation order for Hurricane Dorian. The board should be commended for their leadership as they continue to recognize and support their employees and students.
Mrs. Asselin’s class began their investigation of the solar system today as astronauts in training!
Grandparents day has been rescheduled for September 20th. Lanier Primary has planned their event for a different day.
BCES has rescheduled Grandparents day for Friday Sept. 20. If you can’t attend on the 20th you can use your pre-paid ticket any day between Sept. 20 and the end of October. LPS plans to have their event on a different day.
Adrianna Greene, Subomi Odunsi, and Teagan Meekins will represent BCES in the 2019 School Bus Safety Poster Art Contest. Good luck artists!
