Teachers recently attended a Professional Development session on Touchscreen Interactive Technology in the media center, conducted by the Media Specialist, Ms. Stewart and Technology Resource Teacher, Ms. Croy. Ms. Space, 7th grade ELA teacher, jumped right in and used the technology today with her 7th grade ELA classes. Students enjoyed doing presentations and review games with the interactive projector.


Students in Mr. Hodgdon's 7th grade science class and members of the Field Studies Program will be holding a yard sale at Richmond Hill High School on March 25th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All funds will go toward ecological studies equipment for the classroom and Field Studies Program. Anyone interested in donating items can drop the items off at the high school the evening of the 24th.

Students in Mr. Amason’s 9th grade literature and composition class traveled to Atlanta, GA to watch a performance of William Shakespeare’s" Much Ado About Nothing". The play was followed by lunch at the Varsity which was an equally exciting cultural experience. #WeAreRHMS


Students participated in a poster contest for Exceptional Children's week. Winners were as follows: 1st Place: Athena Ramo - Differences Shouldn't Matter 2nd Place: Elizabeth Powell - If Everyone were the same, the world would be dull and boring 3rd Place: Maddison Warwick - Embracing our Differences.

RHMS STEM students, along with STEM Director John Melcher, were invited to present their work at Georgia Southern University's STEM Teaching and Learning Conference, sponsored by the Institute for Interdisciplinary STEM Education. Students presented their work with mid-power rocketry and displayed their models from the Future City Competition.

RHMS will host a Social Studies Showcase on Tuesday, March 14th from 6:00 - 7:00. All grades will be showcasing projects and information from their Social Studies classes. Chorus and Drama club will perform a song and skits related to the social studies curriculum. Come out and join us for this informative evening.


Students we are still looking for projects for the Innovation Expo. If you have a digital project that you have created and would like to enter it in the Expo, please stop by the media center to pick up the guidelines.

Attention 8th Grade Students: Interested in trying out for Competition Cheer at RHHS? There is a mandatory tryout/information meeting on Tuesday, March 7th at 6:00pm in the East cafeteria of the High School. Attendance is mandatory- either parent or student. Tryout packets will be given at the meeting. All tryout packets and updated physicals will be due by Tuesday, March 14th. Tryout dates are March 20th-23rd in the West Gym @ RHHS.

Rising 7th and rising 8th grade students received a registration form today. The forms should be completed this weekend and turned in to their homeroom teacher no later than Wednesday, March 1st.


Two RHMS Science Olympiad teams finished in the top 5 teams at GSU. The 6th grade Black Team was awarded 5th place overall. The 7th and 8th grade Gold Team placed 1st in the region. Congratulations students and teachers!
